The Journey

A valley that doesn't divide.
It crosses.

For centuries the Susa Valley has been a threshold between worlds: Alps and plain, Italy and Europe, departures and returns. ROCCI amaro is born here, in a valley of passes and passages. Not from an unmoving mountain, but from a territory that welcomes, transforms and leaves traces.

The territory

Susa Valley.
A crossroads, not a postcard.

Merchants, apothecaries, pilgrims and travellers have walked these routes between the plain and the Europe beyond the Alps for centuries.

The valley is not just the backdrop of ROCCI: it explains its character. Alongside the high-altitude herbs come balsamic notes, spices and citrus that tell of a territory open to passage.

Fifteen botanicals.

In 2024, while tidying up the family hut in Bigliasco, Carlo Grandi found a handwritten sheet dated 1927. It lists fifteen botanicals, each with its dose.

Carlo shared it with his mother, Gisella Rocci, a lifelong enthusiast of medicinal plants. From there began two years of research: studying the botanicals, infusion trials, balancing the proportions, developing the recipe.

The result is ROCCI: an alpine liqueur that keeps the identity of the original recipe while translating it into a contemporary taste.
